Chilli Serrano
Heirloom chilli originating from Puebla, Mexico. 10 000 to 25 000 Scoville Heat Units or about 7/10 for a solid kick. A small perennial shrub that grows up to a a metre high. Thin skinned chilli's of about 5cm long grow abundantly. The green chilli's are hot, but as they turn red upon ripening and then onto brown and orange they become even more intense. Used raw, for salsa, pickled, cooked or dried, the Serrano is very versatile.

- 0.5-1.5m high - Perennial - sheltered full sun - well drained - rich compost soil
